Welcome to the Mayflower Society website !

I hope you find the stuff here interesting and useful.

The Mayflower Society has been running for over 30 years. Based in Southampton it warmly welcomes Transvestites, Transsexuals, their friends and families from all over the south. The Society provides social opportunities, ranging from Sunday afternoon tea once a month, to frequent Disco's and an Annual Ball. The Society also provides practical support to members, and their relatives.

The events, affiliated groups and useful links and magazine pages are updated frequently - so browse into them to be up to date.

  • T@Home in July

    Access to the Avenue in Southampton between 10am and 2pm on Sunday 11th July is restricted due to the Tesco race For Life. T@Home is open Business as usual 2:30pm onwards but be prepared for a little extra traffic.

  • Totton Disco in July

    The Totton disco theme for July is When Swing met Pop so its a choice of Bobby Sox or mini skirts; otherwise anything goes as ever !

  • Michelle's pre-Wake party - Friday 6th August 2010

    Michelle has decided that she wants to be at her own wake; no signs of ill-health yet! So she is throwing a party at the Totton venue on Friday 6th August 2010 from 8pm until late.

    Michelle & Ann would love to see anyone who remembers them; they asked me to pass this invite on as they don't have up-to-date addresses for most of us!

    Dress code is as you like - it is a party after all. Disco, Caberet, Buffet & Bar.

    If you are going, could you email me as a courtesy and I will advise Michelle accordingly.

    So that's 2 Totton Disco opportunities in August!

  • LBGT History Month - February 2011

    Whats this?

    Southampton Solent University have a project to make a documentary film and exhibition for February 2011 to celebrate the rich history and heritage of the LGBT communities.

    If you would be prepared to be involved in some way let Tina G know.

    This is an interesting opportunity and it already has the broad support of other LBGT organisations in Southampton and Hampshire.

  • The Pink Ball at a new Venue in October 2010

    Final arrangements are being made for the next Pink Ball in this coming October.

    I hope to have sorted out the ticket arrangements before the July Totton. Last year a good time was had by all, the Mayflower representation in attendance can be seen here Lets see if we can increase the T*representation this year, putting the T in LBGt !

  • Basement Boys ! reminder

    Southampton's own FtM (transmen) meet in the downstairs lounge of our T@home venue in Southampton. We welcome them, and I'm sure there will be mixing between stairs!
